Who We AreSt. Augustine People for Peace and Justice was formed during the run-up to the Iraq war and has actively opposed the illegal and immoral war/occupation in Iraq. We are a loose coalition of local individuals and organizations working to end our country's seemingly endless and expanding wars/occupations. Our members, who are involved in a variety of local, state and national peace and justice issues, have come together to oppose the most catastrophic action our government has ever taken - the so-called War on Terror. We share the common belief that military solutions are NOT the answer, and that through communication, understanding and honest diplomacy we can create a peaceful world free from exploitation, violence and unnecessary suffering.
Mission StatementWe are a coalition of concerned citizens in St. Augustine, FL., who feel called to speak out on issues of justice and peace. We believe that the American people possess all the resources necessary to achieve peace, anywhere, through diplomacy. We believe that the U.S. has a moral obligation to seek peace for all who share this world. We invite all to join us in calling for a just and peaceful resolution to the Iraq war and to all conflicts. Now is the time to take personal responsibility for our individual and collective actions that jeopardize the safety and health of humankind. War is not the answer.
